    Description

    This is a Rare Antique Japanese 5 Tier Carved Wood "June Bug" Inro with a Bovine Bone & Copper Button carry handle and an Bovine Bone Slide Lock at the nose of the June Bug and a piece of Amber at the tail of the June Bug..
    This Inro is in very good condition with no cracks or breaks.
    The Inro (wood only) is about 5 3/4" long when closed, and 2 3/4" wide at the tail end by 1" thick. The Copper and Bone button handle is about 1 3/4" in diameter. The Bovine Bone slide lock is 3/4" long. The Amber at the tail in is about 1" by 5/8".
    What is Inro?
    Inro is a small container for carrying medicine and tobacco leaves. In the Edo period, Samurai had a habit of carrying regular medicines in Inro, which were used daily and were popular as accessories that represent Edo crafts.
    Most of the items I sell are estate finds, and are presented to you in, as is, as found condition. They are described to the best of my knowledge.
