Vintage 1860s (circa 1865) Civil War Era Carte de Visite CDV Photo of a named / identified OFFICER / SOLDIER / MAN wearing a Civil War Union officer solider uniform with his FIRST SERGEANT rank insignia visible on his uniform sleeves.  He is seated and has a long chin beard and a watch chain visible.  It looks like part of his kepi hat is visible on the table.
- This CDV was from an album full of CDVs from Northampton, Massachusetts and surrounding areas in Massachusetts.  This CDV was among others from the Vincent Family.
He is identified as M H VINCENT (MICAJAH HOWES VINCENT) who was part of the
10th REGIMENT, MASSACHUSETTS VOLUNTEER INFANTRY, COMPANY H
& 37th REGIMENT, MASSACHUSETTS VOLUNTEER INFANTRY, COMPANY B & 20th REGIMENT, MASSACHUSETTS VOLUNTEER INFANTRY, COMPANY C

Here is Civil War military service information about MICAJAH HOWES VINCENT:
First Sergeant Micajah H. Vincent was born in Hawley, Massachusetts on November 7, 1830.  He enlisted in the 10th REGIMENT, MASSACHUSETTS VOLUNTEER INFANTRY, COMPANY H and was promoted to CORPORAL.  He was wounded in the bowels on July 1, 1862 at Malvern Hill and was taken prisoner.  He was taken to Libby Prison where, after 20 days of confinement, he was paroled.  He was then promoted to SERGEANT in November 1862, then to FIRST SERGEANT in March 1863.  He then reenlisted on December 21, 1863 and received 7.32 from the town of Ashfield, Massachusetts.  He was captured at Spottsylvania, VA and was a prisoner in Andersonville, GA and then in Florence, SC.  He was transferred on June 19, 1864 to the 37th REGIMENT, MASSACHUSETTS VOLUNTEER INFANTRY as SERGEANT of COMPANY B and transferred on June 20, 1865 to the 20th REGIMENT, MASSACHUSETTS VOLUNTEER INFANTRY as FIRST SERGEANT of COMPANY C.  He was discharged at his expiration of service on July 16, 1865.
Micajah Howes Vincent was born in Hawley, Massachusetts in 1833 and died in Conway, Massachusetts in 1914.
