Description
Original US Army M1 HelmetVietnam War Era
Helmet has history. Manufactured during or prior to Vietnam war for the US military Helmet this particular piece has the red anti rust paint common in helmets reissued in the 1960's. Liner is Firestone and marked 65 (1965) this signifies mold date and not actual manufacturing date.
The shell is in really nice shape it has some crown dings the largest thumb print size the others are smaller than dime size and are not deep. A few paint chips. Paint seems original but am pretty sure that this shell was
ww 2 or Korea (or early Vietnam) and reissued and painted. Rear seam, can not make out a heat number.
The Liner has significant edge cracks and some fraying. Webbing is in good shape but shows signs of wear.
